ROLLO BAY

FIDDLE GROUNDS

961 Veteran's Memorial Hwy, Souris, PEI

Rolling down through the woods to the red sands and clear waters of the Northumberland Strait on unceded Mi’kmaq territory, Epekwitk, the Rollo Bay Fiddle Grounds has been a gathering place for the musical community of Eastern Prince Edward Island for 45 years. Most well known for hosting the annual Rollo Bay Fiddle Festival, the Field has also hosted artists like Great Big Sea, Xavier Rudd, April Wine, Natalie MacMaster, Jill Barber and Buck 65 in one-off shows and festivals throughout the years.

The stage, bar, bonfires and food outlets are all housed in the Main Field, an open space which gives way to the fabled Big Hill on the south side of the property. Meander through groomed woodland trails of evergreens as chickadees, bluejays, eagles, osprey, kingfishers dart above you. A mile or so of wooded trails lead you in and around the marsh down to the still waters of the Strait - perfect for launching off a paddleboard, ‘piss’-clamming (you’re in PEI now, b’ys), a sunset bonfire and mussel boil, watching the herons dip for fish, or wading the waters as the seasons change.

Owned and operated by the not-for-profit family-based organisation, Big Field Traditions, the Field operates under the spirit of welcome in all events - no matter who you are, you are welcome and we want you here.
